I went through a variety of sports cars – a TR3, TR3A, and a TR4 – but this TR2 was an absolute classic . . .

. . . and then I bought my favourite ever sports car - an Austin Healey 3000 Mark 3. As you can see it was ebony and white. It had red leather interior with a black hood and tonneau cover (for those of you who don’t know, this was the fitted cover that went over the whole of the passenger area and turned the cockpit into a one-seater with the hood down).

Obviously it was glorious to drive on a hot summer's day, but, equally, it was great fun when it rained! No power steering, manual, triple carbs and fast!

Unfortunately I wrote it off at a non-functioning set of traffic lights. I was lucky to come out alive - no seat belts in those days! Still, in my opinion, the best car I've ever owned.
