We are very lucky having a lot of open green belt land around this area.
Hanworth Air Parks has a new leaisure centre built on one side of a wonderful open space. There are football and rugby pitches and enough space for every kind of outdoor activity. We often see kyte flyers, model aircraft enthusiasts, cyclists, dog walkers and even recently someone testing out their parashute at ground level!
Just 50 yards from the house is the entrance to Crane Park. This is a nature reserve and, as its name would suggest, there are many varieties of birds there, including cranes. The ancient Shot Tower, where they used to make amunition, is a local attraction. There's a vibrant community of volunteers who help to maintain the area for the benefit of both the human visitor and the natural inhabitants.
I enjoy walking round this area (when my injury prone carcass allows). I have a pedometer which I find gives me added incentive when I walk.
